Recipe 2: Wartime Crisps

In the war the government promoted 'Waist not Waste' so every last part of the food had to be used. Today's wartime snack uses the left over potato peelings from the potatoes for dinner.

Ingredients:
Potato Peelings
Oil to cook in
Salt and pepper to season

Method:
Wash potato skins and drain. Place on a baking tray
Sprinkle with a little oil and salt and pepper
Place in a preheated oven heated to 200 centigrade
Cook until golden brown

And here's Granny Doris to talk you through it:

  2. I thought so! It uses up the bits of the potato that we usually waste and they're healthier than store bought crisps! x
